We all know how nasty possums can be in the USA… not only are they pretty damn ugly and gross overall.. but they are also mean and always making hissing open mouth noises when you happen to be nearby. (except when they are flat on the road… eeew)
here is the ugly american possum, not a pretty sight most of the time..

Last night while on my way to dinner with my new house mate, we were crossing along the park and i saw a little creature running around the grass.. i was like.. what is that? and he was like.. oh its just a possum… I was like OMG EEW! but then…. when we got closer and it actually did not hiss or even seemed bothered that we were close to it.. i saw it up close.. and …
it was cute…
not only does it look more like a squirrel, but it also has these huge eyes and its a lot nicer than its north american cousin… check these out:

I was like… wow… i cant believe they are actually cute! and they happen to just wander around the parks and climb on trees! very odd..
anyway… just wanted to share the possum experience

Hi everyone.. sorry for the ubber lameness that I have not updated my blog. There has been a lot of crazy things happening, and one of them is that I was getting ready to leave to Australia!!
So right now, I am in Adelaide, Australia… for the next month or so I will be working at Rising Sun Pictures on Harry Potter: The half Blood Prince! I am totally excited about the whole thing, and even though it is a very short contract, I just could not pass up the opportunity to meet some new people, work on a cool movie, and get to be in australia!!!
Right now I am using an internet cafe.. mainly cause I have no way of loggin online from my hotel since they charge insane $$ per minute to use the net. And being at work, I need to focus to try to get all my work done in a short amount of time.
I will be trying to do a few updates here and there with more info on my OZ adventures.. but for now I just wanted to say hi, I made it.. and I look forward to sharing some adventures soon!
oh yeah.. and I am writting to you all from the future!!

ok, so I had the intentions to try to keep this blog somewhat updated.. but I find myself constantly getting busy with so many things going on and not having time to do it!
So here is an update…
I just got back from Alaska… which I should probably make a posting for it itself and put up a gallery to showcase some of the pics I took while I was there..
I am now in hardcore job hunting mode. I am almost done with all the work I have been doing to help out my brother start his business and then I can concentrate on doing my own thing and kitty muffins again. Not to mention that I will finally get back to trying to get the scratchpost back up and running again with the new design.
I think what I am gonna do is try to make some random times here and there and try to fill things out on this blog and back date them to when it happened…
stay tuned!!!

I am officially in vegas!
We are staying at the MGM grand and i’m having a blast! I had no idea that this hotel had so many pool options, so once we went down and I found their lazy river I was excited!!! I usually stay at the Mandolay Bay since it has the river and I am a big fan.. but they were having an awesome special here at MGM and we decided to check it out.
I gotto say, I like Manadolay’s rooms better, but MGM’s river ROCKS!! Last night we went to see Stomp Out Loud, and tonight we will be seeing KA… im SOOO excited!!! will add more notes and pictures again once I get back.. we leave back tomorrow and I gotto go get ready for dinner at “The CatHouse”…

Last week I got news from my dad that my grandfather was in the hospital under intensive care. My dad flew to Los angeles to prepare and sign any documents necessary since he is the only child. He explained to me that there was a very high chance that we would loose him within a week or so and to be prepared for the bad news.
Today I got the bad news. My grandfather passed away this morning at 8am.
He was the last grandparent I had left, and even though I was not able to be there in person this last week, I called my dad everyday just to keep up with the information of his status.
My grandfather was a very difficult man, and even though he lived in west covina, I hardly ever visited him due to always having a bad experience when I would go see him. He was very “old school thinking”, and to him the fact that I am in my 30’s and have not married and had kids, was a huge issue. He never understood my lifestyle, my job situations, or even bothered to call me or be part of my life. When I would see him he would make me feel bad about myself due to my weight, appearance or choices in life.. and even last time I visited him he gave me his usual “bad taste doesn’t have forgiveness from god” quote. Which meant that i should be dating someone that would improve my bloodline and be careful of my choices. He was also in a very dark place when I last saw him, talking about wanting to die and how unhapppy he was without my grandma. In a nutshell, it really was difficult to even be around him, so I had chosen to just avoid him in general.
When I got the news I didn’t really have much emotions about it. I felt bad about the situation but was also relieved my dad was going to be there to take care of things. A few days ago while in bed it hit me.. I was extremely upset and cried for a while. I felt helpless that I was not there and could not do anything about it anyway since he was unconcious most of the time, I felt guilty for not keeping in touch with him when he was alone in a home, and that I didn’t personally say goodbye.
Today I talked to my dad while walking back from an errand and after hanging up I realized I was having a hard time keeping the tears from falling and feeling the loss. I am happy that he is now in a better place and that he passed on peacefully and painlessly after they removed the life support yesturday afternoon. I am sure he is happier to be with my grandma which he missed dearly, and I know my dad feels better that “god remembered him”.
I loved my grandfather, even if he was a hard man to deal with. I am sure he is in a much better place now.
Rest in peace abuelito.. you will always remain in my heart.

This was the last time I saw my grandfather.. when I went to visit him with my sister Adriana.

After a few days of research, and deciding on travel plans and where to go and all that.. a new adventure has taken form.
Origionally I was looking on trips to Peru, Bolivia or Vietnam. All of them sounded amazing.. but since i was looking for the earliest possible it turned out that the flights to those places alone were like 1200+ and like 20+ hr flight… YIKES!
so my back-up plan is to go to alaska… so Mat and I purchased tickets for an alaskan cruise today and I am totally excited! I hope to get some cool pictures of glaciers and wonderful wildlife.. and I am TOTALLY looking forward to checking out the dogsled camp! IM SO THERE!
anyway… here is a pic of the boat I will be going on.. Norwegean “sun”.. and their “freestyle” cruising. I will be on this ship from June 15-21… yay alaska!!!!

*UPDATE*: just got tickets to go to vegas! We will be staying at the MGM grand and got some awesome discount tickets to go see the latest Cirque Du Soleil show “KA”. can’t wait!

ok, i’m guilty… i have been completely addicted to this game. Funny thing is that I never played any of the past game series before, and ever since Mat got it.. all of a sudden he and I are staying up til like 4am trying to make sure all of our gangsta friends like us 90% and that all 4 women that call us are happy and dated when they call us up to go get them and take them out. Not only that, but now i am obsessed on finding all the 200 pidgeons that are randomnly all over the game and kill them to get yet another achievemet..
It’s ridiculous and we are out of control.
First I started off being carefull about my driving.. but now i am running everyone over, stealing any cool car that happens to pass by, and shooting at anyone who pisses me off! LOL
so there ya have it.. been a little away based on trying to get the game completed (which btw we are almost done with it.. and we are now working on the 2 different endings). Everyone likes us, we have killed people we have worked with before, and we dont even have to worry about getting to get those 4 girls to like us anymore.
The gameplay itself is pretty good, the story is definitelly interesting with many twists, and lots of fun things to do as side quests. (from pidgeon killing, to assasin quests, to car theft, to unique stunt jumps..). Only thing is that the character themselves are pretty damn ugly.. man.. even the girls we date are kinda scary.. and a bit demanding at times too.. I mean.. HELLO.. i am in the middle of hit woman! stop calling me to ask me to take you out! sheesh!
Here are some screen grabs from gamespot…

Being so far from the USA makes getting a hold of people a bit more challenging.. fortunatelly, I was able to order something online and have my brother Alex pick it up for me and have it ready for my mom for mother’s day… aww.. the internet… it’s amazing what you can get done via a few clicks and a credit card
So I ordered my mom an “Edible Arrangement’s Bouquet”.. which is pretty awesome cause it’s original and yummy! plus.. flowers die anyway…
When i called her, she was totally excited and mentioned on how she had already eaten the whole thing! HAHHA! awww…. my mom is so cute
I called my step-mom and send emails to a few other mom’s that deserve to be celebrated as well.

Here is a pic of my mom eating the crap out of her bouquet.. LOL
For any other mom’s out there… HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY !!!

So as I sat here yesturday coming up with some design ideas for my brother my phone rang. First thought was “aww, crap… if i answer it it’s gonna cost me a fortune cause att blows…“.. then I looked at the number and the fact that I did not recognize it made me curious.. so I answered…
The voice at the other end sounded familiar, but I was still not sure..so I asked “who is this!?”.. the response immediatelly gave me the answer…. all he had to say was “awww, dude..” It was Russ.
Russ is a friend back from college, who I used to play an insane amount of video games with, he had taken me under his wing to make me a mortal kombat master so i could go to the arcade with him and kick boys asses on the game.. LOL… good times!
It was so nice to hear from him! after realizing i was on my cell for 45 minutes.. (omg i dont even wanna see my cell bill extra charges for that!) I told him to go get skype and we called each other via skype. To make a long story short… we talked for the rest of the day! We had lots to catch up with, and it was almost like we had never lost touch.. he really made my day!
We promised we would be better about keeping in touch, and now that we have skype, we can chat for free… YAY!
So today, a friend I had meet online back when I was playing W.O.W came on aim.. We have never officially met, but we always chat on aim and have become good friends in the last few years. (he’s the proud parent of Olaf, the Viking Kitty Muffin).
So I told him to get skype so we could chat over the pc and so he did.. he called me and we finally officially met thru the phone! it was pretty sureal.. someone I am used to hearing in my own head when i read his aims, who I laugh when he makes statements like “ZOMG, COMMIE!!” or other random all caps out of the blue like some loony who hears voices…he’s funny
So, We chatted for about an hour and then he had to go since he was traveling.
It’s funny, sometimes you have your own idea of what someone’s voice would sound like if you have never met them, and then once you finally chat to them it kinda takes you by surprise that their voice is not the same as it sounded in your head. It was nice to finally met him, even if it was just via the skype phone.
Sometimes surprises can really make your day… Russ made my day yesturday.. and Jorge made my day today.. YAY FOR SKYPE!!!

So for the last few days I have been diving into trying to learn and understand css and how to customize blogs. I have been creating a new blog for my brother’s upcoming small business and so I am helping him out with the online presence.
Ive been learning more about the whole blog craze and the extra plugins that are supported.. these are the things i added to my blog:
www.twitter.com - Not only can you now see any updates of what i have been up to.. but you can also “follow” my tweets… it’s like a stalker’s dream!!! haahaaa! We will see if i actually have the time to update it all the time.
www.gravatar.com - A gravatar, or globally recognized avatar, is quite simply an avatar image that follows you from weblog to weblog appearing beside your name when you comment on gravatar enabled sites. Avatars help identify your posts on web forums. Signing up for a gravatar.com account is FREE, and all that’s required is your email address. Once you’ve signed up you can upload your avatar image and soon after you’ll start seeing it on any post you put here. If you dont have a gravatar of your own, my default cute kitty gravatar will be used on any of your comments ;P
I also noticed i can add a flicker feed.. so that will be the next programing plug-in thing i figure out!
let me know if you know any other cool plug-ins i can look into and learn about!
